ATLANTA — Navigation Capital Partners has acquired James Brown Contracting Inc. and its subsidiaries Brown Trucking Company and JBT Brokerage Inc., the investment firm reported Monday. Navigation and VVS Capital, another Atlanta-based private equity firm, formed James Brown Holdings LP as part of the transaction.
Schneider reduces fleet speed to 60 mph; says environmentally right thing

WASHINGTON — Schneider National Inc., a provider of transportation, intermodal and logistics services and the nation’s largest truckload carrier, announced on May 12 its plans to operate the most energy-efficient fleet in the industry. The effort, which builds upon the company’s 30-year track record of environmental stewardship, was announced at a news conference today in Washington, as the American Trucking Associations unveiled its strategies for minimizing the carbon footprint of the trucking industry.
